Where can I go ATV Off-roading?
Ashley Lake ATV Trail #812
Open from June to October, the 7-mile trail above Ashley Lake is a favorite with the local off-road riders.
- Directions: This trail is 23 miles from Kalispell. Take Hwy 2 west out of Kalispell go 4 miles, turn onto Ashley Lake Road (FS Rd #912) go 15 miles turn onto FS Rd #10236 go about 4 miles, trailhead is marked with signs. Parking is limited to 3-4 vehicles
- Distance/Time: 7 miles.
- Road Conditions: Unpaved trail.
Blacktail Wild Bill Trails #917, 918 and 919
With three legs along the 23-mile trail system, this is a favorite with jeep owners and ATV off-roaders. One leg of the trail begins off of Blacktail Mt. Road on Road #917a and intersects with the other two trails which begin off of Truman Creek Rd #213 and from the trailhead on Road #2990.
- Directions: Access Trail #919 from Hwy 2 by turning onto Kila Road for about 1.8 miles- going through Kila. Turn left onto Smith Lake Road, turn right onto Browns Meadow Road, turn left onto Truman Creek Road, turn right onto Wild Bill Rd after the pavement ends, continue up this road about 2.7 miles, and turn left down a seemingly private driveway for 1/10 of a mile, the trailhead is on the right. There is wooden three rail fencing on the left side of the drive.
- Distance/Time: 23 miles. 3 to 4 hours.
- Road Conditions: Unpaved trail.
