Details: Starting out as a small-town local event, the Whitewater Festival has grown to be known internationally. You can run the wild water in a canoe or a kayak. But be sure to wear your safety helmet and life vest as the water is definitely "white" and wild.
Even if you don't paddle, come to the festival and have fun. There is usually a fundraiser prior to the actual event, the proceeds from which go to the preservation of this beautiful, wild river and to make sure that the river and the lands surrounding it remain accessible to the general public.
